Full Job Description
Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital has a reputation as a centre of excellence providing high quality paediatric care to the local, regional and the national population. We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our Long Term Ventilation (LTV) respiratory team on a 12 month fixed term basis. You must have proven paediatric respiratory expertise with some experience of working with children with long term ventilation needs. You should also exhibit leadership qualities. The post offers the opportunity to work within both acute and community settings and requires the therapist to assess, treat and manage a varied caseload of children with acute and chronic LTV needs. Supervision and teaching is an essential part of the role. There will be an expectation that the post holder will show an interest in service development, audit and research. The ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills is essential to work, To organise, co-ordinate and deliver a comprehensive physiotherapy service to children and young people with Long Term Ventilation (LTV) needs in a variety of settings including clinic, outpatient department, ward / PICU environment, patient's home and school. effectively within this multi disciplinary addition you will participate in a comprehensive in-service training programme and individual performance review scheme. The successful candidate will also be required to participate in the emergency out of hours respiratory rota and be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of an evolving service.,

- Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy (MCSP)
- HCPC Registration
- Attended relevant Post Graduate courses / qualifications in relation to respiratory / LTV Desirable
- Relevant leadership / management course Knowledge and Experience Essential
- Previous experience of paediatric respiratory physiotherapy at band 6 level (or equivalent) or previous experience of adult respiratory physiotherapy (or equivalent) at band 7 level.
- Evidence of teaching and supervising other staff
- Evidence of participation in audit / research projects
- Evidence of supporting carers Desirable
- Experience of training and supervising other professionals in specialist area
- Experience of working with children with LTV or complex respiratory needs Analytical and judgement skills Essential
