Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen due to service development for a highly motivated Podiatrist to join our team as an Advanced Podiatrist - Podiatric Surgery. The post holder will be expected to support the Consultant Podiatric Surgeons to assist in the delivery and development of the podiatric surgery service across the Trust. The post includes Theatre support including the administration of local anaesthetic using advanced techniques as well as working in out-patient clinics.,

  • Assessment and treatment of patients preoperatively and postoperatively in out-patient clinics.
  • Admission and recovery of patients in the theatre setting.
  • Administration and monitoring of local anaesthetic blocks using advanced techniques.
  • Ordering to ensure stock levels of equipment and consumables used is maintained.
  • Excellent communication skills and support to other Team members to ensure smooth running of theatre and out-patient sessions, contributing to positive patient experience.

    Applicants must have the ability to work across professional and organisational boundaries with excellent communication skills at all levels as well as the commitment to be flexible to suit the needs of the service.
  • Essential: Bsc Podiatric Medicine Registered with Health and Care Professions Council Certificate in Local Analgesia POMS certification CPR certification Significant post graduate experience The ability to meet the transport requirements of this post Previous experience of working within a Podiatric Surgery team would be desirable.
