Tameside Children's Services are proud to launch NEW Social Work Academy starting this autumn to help increase the quality of support that is offered to families in the borough, ensuring children are at the heart of everything., As part of this launch, we are looking to recruit a number of Advanced Practitioner Leads to join our team. In this unique role you will be responsible for nurturing and supporting social workers in their first, second and third year of practice. You will offer reflective supervision, advice, guidance, demonstration of best practice and bespoke development opportunities to newly qualified social workers. To ensure the full effectiveness of the role, you will not be expected to hold you own case load.

This role would suit an experienced Social Worker looking to advance their career and support the development of others.

You will be qualified social worker who is passionate about supporting and developing Social Workers in their early years of practice. You will be confident in your own abilities of offer high challenge balanced with high support., 1. Relevant professional qualification for the job role at Level 6 or above, AND

2. Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in the role, AND

3. Maintained membership of a regulated body where this is a requirement to practice in the role where applicable, AND

4. Professional standards practised to the highest expected level.

This position is subject to Enhanced with Barred List Disclosure Procedures.

This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English.

The Social Work Academy pathway recognises that staff are its greatest asset and will provide good supervision and management support, with opportunities for learning and development. The training will align newly qualified staff with experienced colleagues, building on social worker retention and providing future career development for those that have completed the training.
