Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist - Stroke / Neurology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an advanced practitioner physiotherapist to join Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust to take lead in the clinical delivery and leadership of the Stroke physiotherapy services., To take the lead role in the clinical delivery and leadership of the Inpatient Stroke physiotherapy services.

To provide a physiotherapy assessment and treatment service at an advanced level for patients who have been admitted to hospital via a stroke pathway

To work as a key member of the MDT, in the management of stroke patients admitted to hospital

To lead in supervision, support, teaching and appraisal of physiotherapy staff and students, within the speciality.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate significant post graduate clinical knowledge of this specialist field, including having worked at band 6 level within the NHS. You must also be able to demonstrate flexibility, good time management skills, organisational skills and evidence of self-motivation.

As a key member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a cohesive approach to the management of stroke patients. You would be expected to carry a caseload on the inpatient stroke ward (JASRU), which is an enriched environment that delivers care to acute and rehabilitation patients,

Applicants must be able to demonstrate leadership skills to assist in the development and growth of this established team and influence further service and pathway improvement. You will play an active role in staff supervision, audits and research.
