  • Role Overview: Safeguarding and Care Planning In this role, you'll work with longer-term interventions, primarily focused on child protection or children looked after in court processes. You'll undertake assessments, review plans, chair meetings, and work closely with children and families, including court attendance.
  • Lead complex and sensitive cases, chair multi-agency meetings, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide group and individual reflective supervision, especially for newly qualified social workers, and mentor colleagues through shadowing and guidance.
  • Implement systemic practice, utilizing tools like genograms and impact chronologies to engage children and families in solutions-based approaches.
  • Drive practice improvement through quality assurance, performance data, and feedback, and implement action plans for service enhancements.
  • Collaborate with managers on team meetings, training, and bringing in relevant research and lessons learned.
  • Review, authorize, and guide staff on work such as assessments and plans, ensuring accuracy and filling any gaps.
  • Oversee staff management activities, including recruitment, supervision, and training, and ensure work allocation aligns with service standards.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, approve funding for care plans, and ensure procedural compliance in ordering and record-keeping.
  • Advocate for service users and families, ensuring care plans meet their needs and supporting staff in complex situations.
  • Contribute to strategic service improvement by gathering information, addressing gaps in service, and helping develop quality assurance standards and initiatives.
