Full Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to deliver and lead pharmacy services within Dermatology. This is a new post within the Trust due to an expansion of the current Dermatology services.
The successful candidate will provide an active role in developing and monitoring treatment pathways for dermatology patients, working closely with our Consultant Dermatologists and Clinical Nurse Specialists. The post-holder will be an integral part of the dermatology multidisciplinary team. There is scope to develop a role in outpatient clinics and take an active role as a prescriber in this setting., Ø Provide holistic, specialist pharmaceutical care service to patients attending Dermatology clinics, including advice and counselling on biologic and high-risk terapies
Ø Ensure continuity of supply of specialist on homecare therapies
Ø Review patients as part of a pharmacist-led consultation which may include prescribing medication, ordering & interpreting blood tests and corresponding with relevant members of the dermatology MDT
Ø Maintain and develop Homecare services for Dermatology
Ø Maintain records of patients on biologic therapies and assist with monitoring, including BlueTeq to ensure compliance with NICE and commissioning guidelines
Ø Manage of Medicines Safety issues related to Dermatology and ensure compliance e.g. with Pregnancy Prevention Programme for oral retinoids, Investing in the health and wellbeing of our staff is really important to us.
