CSH is looking for an Advanced Specialist Podiatrist (Diabetes and Wound Care) to join our team. Why join us? CSH is a unique organisation owned by its employees that means you can influence change. We focus on excellence in care to deliver better outcome for our service users.
You will work as an integral member of the podiatry and diabetes foot protection teams providing highly specialist assessment, treatment and advice for the high risk and most complex cases. You will be based in community and domicilary settings but will also be part of the wider multidisciplinary diabetes foot team at Ashford and St Peter's Hospital. You will participate in consultant led MDT Diabetes foot clinics and Podiatry/Diabetes Nurses led Hot Foot Clinics delivering high quality, innovative and responsive programmes of podiatric care., Provide highly specialist diagnostic assessment, treatment and advice for high risk, ulcerated and the most complex cases.
Be responsible for the day to day running of podiatry clinics in the community and in hospital sites, cascading information to the whole team, triaging referrals and requesting investigations.
Be a part of the wider multidisciplinary diabetes foot team (MDT and Hot foot Clinic) at Ashford and St Peter's Hospital providing podiatry care for both inpatient and outpatient services.
To be responsible for maintaining patient pathways between acute and community care.
To lead and implement a regular review of outcome measures across the service to ensure the service provided is effective..
To be involved in the operational and strategic development of the service, embracing developments in practice and evidence based medicine.
To act as a source of expertise and undertake training of podiatry students, help colleagues maintain and develop their clinical skills in wound care, and educate other health care professionals on the role of podiatric wound care.
To participate in podiatry service wide CPD activities, clinical audits, service pilots/projects and other research activities to support the development of evidence based practice.
You will have experience of managing high risk diabetes patients, preferably in an acute MDT setting as well as possessing post graduate studies/qualifications relevant to this post. You will require excellent communication/people skills and have the ability to maintain effective working relationships with the wider MDT, GP's and other health care professionals.
Good IT skills are essential as the role requires working across a range of clinical systems. Although not essential it would be desirable to be a non-medical prescriber.
