Full Job Description
Since the early days, we've grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of 'Your Life, Your Choice' and our strategy 'Best Lives Possible'. We have strong values and we're proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over 100 national and regional awards! We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going 'the extra mile' for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us. Who you'll be supporting & more about the role: This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced specialist mental health support worker to work bank shifts in a brand new and rewarding service. You will be supporting a female with complex learning difficulties and mental health support needs, to lead her best life possible. We are looking to recruit some very special people to be available to support an amazing woman who has just finally realised her dream of moving into her own home. She has experienced a lot in her 21 years and will need a large team of talented and kind staff around her. She is right at the start of her independence journey and will need lots of support and understanding while she navigates through this. She brings a very quick sense of humour, a big love of pizza and a very stylish taste in music! She can also be very funny and sweet. However, there won't be time to rest on your laurels - this role is going to be full on, and is going to need a highly skilled and patient team, as she is also capable of verbally and physically challenging behaviours. You will need to be cool, calm and resilient too! You must have experience of working with people with complex mental health and associated needs to apply for this advanced role. We offer a high level of additional training and induction to all colleagues, along with specialist training to match the needs of person we support. You should also bring enthusiasm for the things she loves to do, and creative new ideas for her to get involved in. We are working in partnership with the person we support and her family to recruit the right team, and their views and opinions will be an integral part of the process of choosing the successful candidates. Your values: The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 in Social Care along with strong experience in mental health. If you do not have a qualification, you will need to have experience in social care and be prepared to take on additional training, that we will support you to complete. You will know how to connect with people and be passionate about supporting people to live independently. You will also be a brilliant mentor and share your skills and experiences with your colleagues. We will develop your talents with a range of specialist training, including the opportunity to learn Positive Behaviour Support methods, Makaton and the Picture Exchange System. Naturally it is important too that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. People's values are important to use, so we look for people who are: Cool, Calm and Collected! Credible, Knowledgeable and Reassuring. Patient and Kind. Resilient, Confident and Consistent in approach. A Place I belong Here at Community Integrated Care we aim to be a warm, welcoming and inclusive employer, where all colleagues feel they belong. We want to an organisation that is truly fair and equal to all - where individual diversity is valued, unique characteristics celebrated and everyone feels able to bring their true selves to work. By encouraging and embracing a range of diverse backgrounds, experiences, capabilities and viewpoints, we will build a stronger, richer, more vibrant workforce, which reflects the people we support, and the communities in which we work. It helps us make better decisions, bring fresh ideas and become a true provider and employer of choice. We have a really clear plan to achieve this called A Place I Belong. This publicly sets out the promises we've made to achieving this vision and how we will hold ourselves to account to getting there. You can read more about this by clicking
