Full Job Description

This role will play a central part in developing VCFA's approach to working in partnership with older people, building on our work to be an age-friendly borough and achieving change. They will be responsible for working with colleagues internally and externally to advise, support, and deliver our activities linked to the Bury Older People Network.

Key areas of work and responsibilities include -

· Facilitate and lead the ongoing development of the Bury Older Persons Network

· Facilitate and develop a new dementia subgroup of the Bury Older Persons Network

· Engage a diverse range of older people in our work, specifically under-represented and under-heard groups

· Be the main point of contact for network members, maintaining relationships and keeping members updated via newsletters and regular communication

· Support the involvement of network members in a range of activities including project development, project governance and external media work and campaigning linked to the Bury Older Person's Action Plan.

· Represent the sector and the Bury Older Persons Network at key events and activities.

· Co-develop and embed a range of impactful and creative approaches to working in partnership with older people

· Engage and support relevant VCSE organisations and groups around developing the Bury Older Persons Network and the borough's ambitions as an Age-Friendly Community.

· Provide a key point of contact for stakeholders and partners wishing to engage with Older People in the Borough and advise on approaches, best practice and resourcing

Ability to engage people from a range of backgrounds and experiences and encourage active participation in new opportunities

Excellent understanding of different methods and approaches to working with 'experts by experience.'

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Good project management - planning, delivering and evaluating projects and keeping accurate records.

Able to use initiative; organising and prioritising own workload within an agreed plan.

Ability to network and work in partnership with people from a wide range of organisations, including voluntary, statutory or other agencies.

Confidence in using digital technology, including office applications and video conferencing.

Salary: £25k pro rata (17.5 hours per week)
