  • Assisting in the preparation of the operating room and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Providing pre-operative care to patients, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications
  • Collaborating with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical experience for patients
  • Monitoring patients during surgery and providing immediate assistance as required
  • Participating in post-operative patient care, including pain management and wound care
  • Adhering to strict infection control protocols and maintaining a clean and safe operating environment
  • Documenting patient information and maintaining accurate medical records
  • Participating in continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest advancements in perioperative care

    BSc (Hons) in Operating Department Practice or Registered General Nurse qualification
  • Clear and valid registration with the HCPC or NMC
  • Proven experience as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) - Scrub, Anaesthetics or Recovery (Minimum 6 months)
  • Strong understanding of perioperative care principles and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse healthcare teams
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient safety, dignity, and respect
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing situations
