Agricultural Engineering Technician

22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

£26,489 – £28,269 per annum pro rata. 

The role of Agricultural Engineering Technician has become available within our land-based engineering department which supports Arboriculture, Animal Care, Countryside, Equestrian, Engineering, Horticulture and Agriculture teaching and technical provision. 

This is a diverse role where the successful candidate will be an integral member of the team looking after and providing the resources used to deliver practical teaching that will meet the needs of the industry sectors we service and inspire our students to achieve at the highest levels. 

An enthusiastic attitude, creative problem solver and logical approach to challenges are essential qualities which when combined with high expectations for safety, cleanliness and presentation will support the team in achieving the standards we expect. 

A solid practical knowledge of mechanical engineering focusing on agricultural, estate management, plant equipment and machinery backed up by appropriate and relevant mechanical engineering-based qualifications. An extensive knowledge of agricultural and plant machinery operation, hydraulic and electrical systems, precision farming, welding and fabrication are all vital skills for the role. Experience of working in an agricultural setting is valued but an enthusiasm for imparting knowledge, experience and skills alongside a positive, pro-active attitude are essential.
