Full Job Description

The successful candidate will work closely with our vet, nutritionist, agronomist and others to help deliver the highest standards. You will also be helping to develop new pig and poultry units.

Main Duties of the Role:

To feed and look after cattle, sheep and pigs to a high standard, supported by the veterinary team to achieve within the top ten percent of UK farms.

Help manage a modern grazing system, forage and arable crops to improve and maintain plant health. Making accurate records throughout, to inform management decisions.

Operate and maintain farm machinery safely, including range of field cultivations and sowing through to harvesting, milling and mixing.

You will work within a strong culture of safety, checking and maintaining equipment and machinery and keeping accurate records for your safety and the safety of staff, students and visitors. You will also contribute to safety inspections.

As a teaching farm, there are also opportunities to support lecturers and their students in practical tasks with livestock as well as machinery and estate skills.

A good knowledge of agriculture and some experience is needed and a clean driving licence.
