Full Job Description

Meta is seeking Research Scientists to join its Generative AI (GenAI) organization, focused on making significant advances in AI. We work on the flagship Llama multimodal models and products for the company, making sure they are developed in a responsible way and with the highest standards. Red teaming and stress testing these models is a critical part of this process where the candidate will be part of. We are currently seeking talented researchers with experience in Language Research to join our LON/PAR sites and work with us on extending the capabilities of large foundation models. Researchers will drive impact by: (1) open sourcing high quality code and reproducible results for the community, and (2) bringing the latest research to Facebook products for connecting billions of users, (3) pushing for state-of-the-art research and publishing papers and technical reports. The chosen candidate(s) will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and
cross-functional partners, and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and research facilities.

Required Skills:

1. Lead research to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines
2. Work towards long-term ambitious research goals, while identifying intermediate milestones
3. Influence progress of relevant research communities by producing publications
4. Contribute research that can be applied to Meta product development
5. Lead and collaborate on research projects within a globally based team

6. Ph.D. and established track record of leading and/or contributing to influential research, e.g. as evidenced by high-impact publications at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, ACL, Interspeech and ICASSP)
7. Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers, as well as non-technical audiences
8. Knowledge in a programming language
9. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience., 10. 2+ years of work experience in a faculty, industry, or government research position with primary emphasis on AI research
11. Experience driving original scholarship in collaboration with a team
12. Track record of translating research into business impact
13. Experience in developing and debugging in C/C++, Python, or C#
