A vacancy has arisen for a EO Grade Civil Servant to serve as Station Flight Safety Officer (SFSO) at RAF Wittering
Ensuring ground and flight safety of Aircraft operations and conducting safety audits. Performing Incident investigations and reporting. Ensuring safety system compliance and standardization. Performing safety regulation, policy and documentation review and making recommendations to the HoE/ DDGH via the Aerodrome Operator.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week., As SFSO your duties fall into the following main areas: Air Safety (AS) and Duty Holder Support.

Your duties in relation to Duty Holder Facing Support are:
+ Assist in maintain the Air System Safety Case for Tutor
+ Participate in DASOR DDH Review Groups and close DASORs where appropriate.
+ Support the DDH in the development and sustainment of the Air Safety Management portion of the Total Safety Management Plan (TSMP), We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

+ A general background in aviation over the previous 5 years. Specific flight safety management 2 years.
+ Interpersonal management, good working knowledge of MS suite (IT Skills).
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience or be willing to achieve these within the first six months of employment:
Skills and Experience.
+ Essential - ASIMS, MASRAMP, ASMSO.
+ Desirable - Occurance Investigator, Occurrence Review Group, EEM., + Essential - Human Factors, Error Management, ASOC, APCIMO.
Availability. The role is principally a day work position; however, there may be times when you will be required to undertake tasking outside of core working hours in order to fulfil the Stn Cdr’s Mission Directive.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
