Full Job Description

To support the security operation, we are looking to recruit an Airport Security Manager to join Leeds Bradford Airport. The successful person will provide leadership, management and direct support to the security department by refining operational strategies to achieve, measure and continuously improve operational efficiencies, ensuring the service remains compliant, in budget and customer focused. Main Responsibilities Direct line management of the Security team comprising of the Security Operations Managers (SOM) and Security Operations Supervisors (SOS) team, providing management oversight and guidance Responsible for the direct oversight and guidance of the Security Pass ID Unit team To manage Airport Security Screening Equipment and Associated Facilities to ensure the safe and efficient operation within security and fit for use at all times To be the nominated Airport Security Manager (ASM) to receive feedback on operational performance from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) airports lead inspectors To support the Policy and Compliance Manager in driving the Airports Risk Advisory Group (RAG), evaluating and updating the risk register providing detailed reports and recommendations of any potential changes to the Airport Security Plan. To act on changes to the UK threat level and review the risk register, monitor threats to the security of international aviation and UK airports, assess, and review threats arising from those changes formulating the appropriate policies and actions to mitigate those risks. In conjunction with security compliance team assist with the development, implementation and update the airport's aviation security program (ASP) and associated procedures To rectify audit outcomes performed by the Compliance team, responsible for closeout of all actions, and ensuring rectifications are complete in a timely manner. Build a positive security culture within the airport community, engaging collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to ensure they are aware of their requirements and engaged in improving all aspects of the airport security standards and customer delivery. Attend regular meetings with the airport Policing group to analyse the threat picture to the wider airport infrastructure and develop the policing requirement to ensure we optimise the function To work closely with the training department and compliance team to drive operations efficiencies and standards ensuring compliance is a key component of the operations building on current and future standards To liaise with 3rd Party Contractors and Suppliers to facilitate and maintain services through goods in requirements to ensure maximum goods throughput while maintaining full compliance To establish a common standard within the security department to ensure focus is driven on operational resilience, airport operational standards and procedures and the consistent service level delivery in line with LBA values and customer excellence To provide clear direction to the Security Team in line with the business plan, focusing on team productivity and continued development of operational efficiencies in line with agreed SLA & KPI targets for LBA Airlines where applicable To ensure the Security Department is appropriately equipped with uniform, PPE and supplementary supplies to maintain a safe, efficient and compliant operation To provide oversight of the return of purchase orders from both internal and external parties to ensure that any work completed by security officers that is outside of the security operation is recharged accordingly To provide support and guidance on operational projects as required To provide support and guidance for staff personnel development programmes To liaise directly with the Security Shift Managers to ensure that an appropriate workforce has been recruited, selected and holds appropriate clearances in accordance with UK NASTP and Airport policies and programmes To manage Welfare, Sickness Absence and Lateness Policy for the Security Department, ensuring that an acceptable level of attendance is achieved, and that appropriate action is taken with those that fail to meet policy requirements. In conjunction with the training department, manage training programmes for SOM & SOS level staff to promote high standard within security to drive staffing efficiencies To analyse available data and provide operational guidance to the security management team to enhance the passenger experience and ensure service level agreements are met and exceeded through a culture of continuous improvement To ensure the security department remains compliant with relevant Health & Safety policies and procedures and to ensure this information is cascaded where necessary To be responsible for delivering Security Operations within the approved budget and maximising opportunity to drive operational efficiencies To manage the security team payroll within agreed budgets, whilst maintaining accurate records and provision of reports To provide direct oversight of any HR/ Payroll queries such as company policies and procedures, annual leave requests, sickness, return to work interviews, disciplinary hearings, uniform standards, ID pass renewals, coordination of probationary assessments and performance development reviews and any changes in employee personal details To act as the first line contact with the security Trade Union and associates Union representatives To provide oversight for the planning and organising of the annual recruitment programme, reviewing all applications received against the company requirements to ensure operational needs are met within budget To work with and liaise with HR, ensuring the screening process for new candidates is successfully completed prior to the commencement of mandatory training Arrange and attend all required Security and Operational meetings, taking accurate notes, preparing detailed actions as required in a timely manner To provide and prepare presentations, write correspondence, reports and develop new policies as required in support of business requirements Deliver timely responses in relation to business and customer complaints and general requirements To offer flexibility in working hours where operationally required to support a 24hr security operation To deputise as the Head of Security as requested and where operationally required To liaise with Regulatory Authorities as required, and maintain professional relationships with industry working groups To carry out other duties as may be reasonably expected

Interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, ability to lead, persuade, influence and effectively engage team members Ability to plan and organise, together with a methodical and detailed approach Ability to analyse data, provide recommendations and detailed timely reports Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulatory requirements Maintain as a minimum Level 3 Security Managers Qualification Knowledge of project management Sound knowledge of AVSEC Regulations Must be able complete CTC clearance - therefore must have lived in UK for last 5 continuous years Ability to work as one team, working together for the business Desire to be the best and excel in all they do Always willing to do the right thing with strong security compliance focus.
