Full Job Description

AKA are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Account Executive, with a genuine love of the travel industry. The ideal candidate will have a creative mind for pitching and a level-headed approach to client support. You will be responsible for strategically assisting on the management of your own group of accounts and should be eager to look after personalities and reputations within the travel sector. You should be establishing good working relationships with relevant journalists and influencers, and have the skills to ensure monthly deliverables are achieved. Crucially, you should have a passion for travel and be willing to travel to some of our beautiful clients, from London to Marrakech to the Seychelles. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional organisation skills, attention to detail and an energetic proactive nature who will thrive in a fast-paced agency environment; someone who is hungry to advance their passion for writing; print, digital and social media; travel, hotels, spa and hospitality. This role is to support client accounts, ensuring that strategies and activities are undertaken to the highest standard, that objectives are being met and that accounts are well serviced. The role requires a fast learner who is as comfortable creating copy as they are establishing strong relationships with clients, media and influencers. The job involves finding the best game plan to generate PR and digital exposure for our clients as well as supporting your managers in the implementation of effective digital and print strategy for new campaigns and hotel openings. Our services span media relations, influencer marketing, client management, strategic services, and events as well as print media. Media Relations

  • Ensuring time is dedicated on a weekly basis to establish and cement media relations with in-person meetings that lead to targeted coverage for our hotel clients
  • Form and develop strong relationships with media and influencers, as well as maintaining and updating media lists
  • Coordinating press trips at both an individual and group level - supporting with itinerary creation, flight bookings and post-trip reporting
  • Liaison with clients to share coverage, make media bookings, coordinate press activities and seek appropriate information for media initiatives
  • Industry
  • Assist on new business-related research and presentation assignments
  • Industry trend research projects alongside competitor analysis
  • Client Account Management
  • Populate and keep the media database up to date
  • Respond efficiently to incoming media requests
  • Regularly collate and analyse media reports (weekly and monthly)
  • Provide support at agency meetings, initiatives and campaign development meetings, ensuring that notes are taken and a contact report is circulated immediately after the meeting
  • Campaigns and Strategy
  • Support the Account Managers in implementing campaign strategy for new hotel openings, campaigns and delivering results
  • Communication Plans
  • Press release design and distribution with managerial supervision
  • Events
  • Assisting in creation of press trip and event planning
  • Co-ordination of RSVP process and event logistics
  • Attend client and industry events, supporting with media briefing documents
  • Administration
  • Management of news editorial tracker, Monday meeting document and meeting agendas and recaps
  • Monitor and action editorial alerts
  • Press coverage distribution, analysis and organisation
  • Media monitoring and forward feature planning
  • Manage media and influencer bookings and ensuring that visits are reconfirmed
  • General Company and office administrative tasks

  • An understanding that working in a communications agency is not a 9-5 role with a willingness to work at evening events and attend industry networking events as well as potential overseas travel to visit hotel clients
