Full Job Description

This role is part of the Greenspace Team and is responsible for the management of the Council's Allotments Service and supporting the Greenspace Volunteers. It is a very people focused role you will be dealing with lots of different people every day from allocating plots to prospective plot holders to responding to enquiries from volunteers and dealing with complaints. You will be responsible for keeping accurate records on all aspects of volunteering, processing payments and assisting with publicising the activities of the volunteers. You will be part of a strong and supportive team who are committed to providing high quality greenspaces for everyone to enjoy. The work will be a mix of office based work and going out visiting allotment sites and occasional visits to meet Volunteers in parks and countryside sites.

You will need very strong IT and administrative skills to deliver all aspects of the job. You will be part of a team but you will need to use your own initiative sometimes when dealing with enquiries. You will need to be able to manage your time well and deal with a range of different priorities. This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English.
