Full Job Description

As part of Lear's commitment to Industry 4.0, this role supports the execution of automation and digital transformation projects within the EU & Africa region. Working with the Just-in-Time (JIT) and Structures Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team, you will lead key projects to enhance operational efficiency and set new standards across Lear's EU & Africa plants. Main Missions:

  • Lead and manage both direct and indirect reports to enhance team performance and growth.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements.
  • Work with Plant Industrial Engineering, Logistics, and IT teams to ensure the implementation of automation solutions and associated processes.
  • Define all equipment and process standards in conjunction with other central stakeholders for specific automation solutions for Lear JIT & Structures, prioritizing opportunities with the largest benefit to Lear.
  • Communicate AME standards to the plants and provide a single source location for accessing the latest standards.
  • Develop key supplier partnerships relevant to automation equipment in collaboration with the Purchasing team.
  • Collaborate with departments such as EHS and the local plant support team.
  • Benchmark solutions concerning process reliability and costs.
  • Identify innovations and support their rollout.
  • Increase Lear's internal CE understanding to allow for future internal integration opportunities.
  • Ensure there is a clear business case or operational need for each project.
  • Ensure adherence to all AME standards.
  • Monitor project timelines and manage suppliers proactively.
  • Closely manage project budgets to align with the project spend profile while working closely with the Finance team.
  • Ensure a flawless launch with zero customer impact.
  • Initiate engagement discussions with key plant stakeholders, followed by regular follow-ups.
  • Provide status and progress reports to key central team members, including AME, IT, Materials and Logistics, Operations, EHS, CI, etc.
  • Deliver status updates to the Executive Team and the Industry 4.0 Council., Ensure a safe working environment by following and supporting the Company's working practices,
  • comply with all relevant HSE legislation and local policies and procedures - Additional Responsibilities detailed in the HS&E Manual.
  • Ensure peers and members in the department comply with TS16949 policies and procedures.

    Degree in Engineering competence or comparable
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Manufacturing Engineering role, ideally within the seating or automotive industry
  • Proven experience managing projects with budgets exceeding €2 million, including effective budget control.
  • High proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel as required for the role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to all levels within the organization.
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Project
  • Understanding of CE certification requirements
  • Familiarity with logistics concepts and LEAR IT systems
  • Knowledge of ergonomic principles in manufacturing processes
