Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a new member to the Acute Medical Admissions Unit at University Dorset Hospitals Foundation Trust within the Poole Hospital Site, to assist in all aspects of the Porter/Ward Orderly role, working as part of a rota which will include days/evenings., This is a busy role, which will involve a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following:

  • Patients transfers

  • Delivery/Collection of all blood products and specimens

  • Responding to Security alerts within the Unit

  • Transportation and exchange of gas cylinders

  • Waste collection, disposal and recycling duties

  • Transportation of Medical & Non-Medical equipment

  • Packing up patient property and preparing bad spaces to facilitate timely flow through the department

  • Rotate, organise and monitor stock levels
