Epsom and St Helier Hospitals NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for an Anatomical Pathology Assistant to join the mortuary at Epsom General Hospital, with the possibility of working at St Helier Hospital, Carshalton when required., The duties are physically and mentally demanding with some aspects of the role requiring participation in the departmental quality management system. Physical aspects require moving and handling of patients, family viewings and, on occasion, preparation of the deceased for autopsy examination. An essential quality is an empathic approach towards the bereaved.

Applications are invited for the post of Anatomical Pathology Assistant . We are looking for an individual to join our motivated and enthusiastic team that will contribute to upholding and improving upon our quality service. The applicant must be able to work as part of a team or alone. The applicant must have excellent communication skills and display meticulous attention to detail with the ability to recall complex information and be willing to participate in all activities related to the mortuary.

The mortuary provides an autopsy service at St Helier to the local Coroner and Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust Hospitals handling 360 Coroners and the occasional hospital autopsy.
