Full Job Description

  • Craft a clear, understandable vision and plan for our game animation style and goals; and empower your leads, seniors, and adjacent teams to rally around that vision.
  • Collaborate and partner with other directors to set the standards, drive fidelity and quality for all aspects of our games' animation content
  • Lead a team of highly skilled animators to deliver hi-fidelity animation; defining and setting the animation standard along each stage.
  • Mentor, develop, and build the skills of your team while ensuring team cohesion and an atmosphere of creativity
  • Coordinate with technical animation and coding teams to improve and develop the animation pipeline, tool sets, and functionality
  • Partner with production and leadership to balance creative goals with production realities while delivering on player experience
  • Provide regular actionable creative and directional feedback to your team to maintain and push quality

    Extensive experience in game animation leadership at the director, lead, or principal level; having shipped at least one AAA title
  • Deep understanding and passion for animation and the ability to translate it into constructive and insightful feedback
  • In-depth understanding of gameplay and cinematic animation
  • Strong knowledge of Animation software, pipelines, and game development processes
  • Experience leading teams, people management, and development
  • Excellent communication and collaborative problem-solving skills

  • Mocap direction experience
  • Combat design knowledge
  • RPG experience
  • Rigging and technical animation knowledge
