Full Job Description

Responsibilities include; supporting women through the antenatal and newborn screening pathway, assisting the ANNB Screening Co-Ordinator in implementing new and/or revised screening programme guidance/standards, monitoring the quality and performance of the screening programmes.

  • To work together with the Antenatal and Newborn Screening Co-ordinator in a developmental role.

  • To participate in the audit and monitoring of the screening programmes and assist ANNB screening coordinator to gather information to produce annual report.

  • Participate in the delivery of in-service training.

  • To support Women and their Families with high risk screening results.

  • To act as a Professional support to Midwives and Midwifery Support Workers in effective delivery of the screening programmes.

  • To respond to adverse events within the screening programmes; participate in investigation or risk.

  • To participate in the local Screening Steering Group and the Clinical Governance Committee.

    Are you an experienced band 6 midwife who is committed to providing quality care to pregnant women and their families?


  • Do you have an interest and knowledge in antenatal and newborn screening and able to support and counsel women and their families with high chance screening results.

    We are looking for a Midwife who is clinically experienced in order to support the Screening Co-Ordinator and who will be able to provide advice and support in all aspects of ANNB Screening and will work as part of our friendly team.
