Full Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and confident nurse to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality antenatal immunisation service to patients having care at South Tees Foundation Trust. The post holder will support the current immunisation service, will maintain up to date electronic records and be part of regular audits to ensure the service is running effectively., In addition, the post holder will provide advice and information about the current immunisation programme for pregnant people, educate staff and other stakeholders.

The post holder will be expected to take a public health and woman centred approach to improve health and tackle inequalities.

The post holder will assist with extra duties in the antenatal clinic such as initiating blood sugar monitoring and assisting the obstetric team.

This role may involve working across sites.

South Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley with two acute hospitals and services in a number of community hospitals.

The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size. It provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services such as neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracics, vascular surgery and cancer services. It has 1,024 beds, a 24-hour acute admissions unit and an emergency department which houses the major trauma centre for Durham, East Cleveland, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire and has its own helipad. In 2012 the Middlesbrough hospital completed a £35 million redevelopment of its cancer services and is now proud to provide some of the best facilities in Europe. The James Cook University Hospital has a modern, central operating suite containing 20 well-equipped theatres and a 16-bedded intensive care unit. There is also an Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation on site, embracing postgraduate
medical education, undergraduate teaching centre, nurse training school, the school of radiography and library facilities.
