Are you ready to join a dynamic team? As the ASB Legal Officer at PA Housing, you'll protect the well-being and rights of vulnerable individuals by ensuring the legal integrity of tenancy agreements. You'll provide legal support, advice, and representation, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Your role will uphold tenants' rights and promote fair tenancy practices, contributing to a harmonious and legally sound housing environment. Responsibilities include legal enforcement services, preparation of pre-trial documentation, and collaboration with external contractors. This role requires strong tenancy law knowledge, legal expertise, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. You'll work closely with the team manager to achieve strategic goals and positive outcomes for PA Housing and its residents. You'll have the opportunity to blend the best of both worlds, spending approximately 2-3 days per week in the office with the remainder being from the comfort of your own home. However bear in mind during your probation and training, we may request more office presence to ensure you feel fully supported and equipped for success. - Anticipate and address resident needs.
- Lead by example and maintain stakeholder relationships. Operational Delivery
- Ensure compliance with tenancy laws and policies.
- Manage evictions fairly and conduct legal research.
- Develop tenancy policies and build court relationships.
- Support performance targets and explain tenancy rights.
- Prepare court proceedings and help prevent evictions.
- Act as liaison with external contractors and represent PA Housing in court.
- Maintain accurate records and provide legal advice. Strategic Thinking
- Align team strategies and prioritize the Residents Strategy.
- Shape and deliver the 'You and Your Neighbourhood' initiative. Stakeholder Relationships
- Build ties with residents, community groups, and stakeholders.
- Represent PA Housing in forums and collaborate with partner agencies. Performance Management
- Ensure consistent case management and use insights to improve outcomes.

- Practical experience of using Landlord and Tenant legislation and best practice.
- Experience of working effectively in a target driven operational environment.
- Experience within a customer service environment working for a Housing Association or other public service organisation, in a capacity which involved face to face interaction with customers, resolving difficult issues.
- Experience in legal practice.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey legal concepts clearly and effectively.
