Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join this small and friendly team as an Anticoagulant and Thrombosis Clerical Assistant at University Hospitals Dorset!
You will support the consultant haematologist, consultant nurse, lead nurse and anticoagulant practitioners with administration duties related to service. Including answering the telephone and making phone calls to patients.
Full training doe this role will be given., o Using Dawn printing and sending out clinic/additional letters to GPs, patients and other Allied Health Professionals.o Assist anticoagulation clinic in cancelling clinics and rescheduling using DAWN Software, where necessary.o To ensure the values of UHD are maintained and practised on a daily basis ensuring all patients are treated with dignity and respect to ensure a high standard of service is maintained.o To answer the telephone and dealing with enquiries from patients, GPs and Allied Health Professionals. And relay medical advice as per clinical guidance. o To give warfarin dose to patients as per Nurse practitioner instructions.o To record all telephone calls made and received using DAWN software.o To Open and send posto To scan confidential clinical information on to the DAWN software and EPR.o To open and send emailso Use of Ecamis/Dawn/EPR/EPMA/NHS/Winpath service finder information systems to look up laboratory results when the anticoagulant Nurse Practitioners requests.o
Collection of audit data. For example Auditing of Inpatients who have no VTE prophylaxis (Pharmacological or mechanical) prescribed at RBH and PGH.o Using Dawn/EPR/DCR checking list of patients who have not attended within one week post scheduled date for their INR blood test appointments and send patient and GP non- attendance letter
