Full Job Description

The Application Support Engineer II is responsible for providing a first class support experience. They are expected to be experienced in researching, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving customer issues in an accurate and timely manner. Our internal clients expect prompt and professional service and require products and applications that they use to be managed and supported by qualified IT professionals. This is a demanding role that requires a leader with an analytical mind-set capable of obtaining a solid understanding of the core systems used by the Maples Group globally, alongside a dedication to customer service that meets our exceptional standards. The candidate must be able to use initiative, be highly motivated, organised and work well under pressure to meet deadlines. The responsibilities for the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Investigate and resolve issues raised by the business
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with the customers
  • Manage vendor relationships relating to support of business and IT applications
  • Configure, document, and administer third party and in house applications
  • Take ownership of domain knowledge, author documentation, and champion internal data sharing
  • Monitor system performance, proactively identify and resolve risks
  • Mentor team members
  • Lead small team projects
  • Research emerging technology and identify opportunities for application
  • Travel as necessary to work with globally distributed teams

    Bachelor's Degree (or similar - ideally STEM discipline) or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a technical role
  • Comfortable with basic SQL and OOP/CS fundamentals
  • Skills in technical and business stakeholder engagement, the ability to explain complex topics in a way that can be easily understood
  • Experience of software development and/or specification of system integrations
  • Experience of working with cloud based and on premise applications, both third party and in house
  • Experience of leading small team projects
  • Experience of the Legal or Professional Services domain
  • Understanding of data protection regulations and experience with effectively managing sensitive information
  • Knowledge of using Application insights to instrument and monitor production systems
  • Experience of working with Azure
  • Experience of implementing or maintaining compliance based systems
  • Experience of implementing or maintaining a document drafting automation system
  • Experience of implementing or maintaining CRM or matter management systems
