Full Job Description

At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 - 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement. Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office., This role supports the business departments of Honda Finance Europe (HFE) using its core auto finance systems and associated sub systems and interfaces. The role holder will be supporting the Users on a day-to-day basis on these systems and ensuring the effectiveness of the associated processes and procedures, along with dealing with any issues encountered. The role involves day to day managing of a small team of associates to analyse, support and proactively suggest solutions for issues raised and to enhance the systems and/or associated reporting. You will manage the outstanding defects on the system to ensure they are analysed for impact and prioritised for fixing with 3rd party suppliers, along with managing the delivery schedule. This position plays a key role in managing the day-to-day relationship with the core banking system Suppliers. Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small team to support HFE goals and objectives, prioritising work for the team in conjunction with Department Manager.
  • Manage production support with the 3rd party providers of the core HFE banking systems to manage defects, understand impacts and prioritise fixes for delivery.
  • Manage the relationship with the print provider to ensure the correct level of service is delivered and maintained.
  • Manage other external suppliers to ensure production support can be provided efficiently to Users (Internal & External).
  • Responsible for the relationship with internal Honda Teams to ensure production issues are dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Carry out regular 'Business as Usual' tasks to support updates required to support the core banking systems and HFE business teams.
  • Provide proactive updates on ongoing issues and recommendations for change/improvements.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to team members.
  • Work with the HF200 Service Operations Lead to agree a new Service Operations model for HFE through to implementation.
  • Lead the effort in creative approaches to problem solving and quality deliverables supporting business needs.
  • Manage and regularly review processes & procedures for all support work.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team and to apply skills and techniques to solve problems.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office including Word, Teams and Excel.
  • Ability to work on own initiative without direct supervision with a high commitment for delivery and quality.
  • Experience of collaborating with a team on tasks with the ability to present information to management of all levels.
  • Desirable
  • ITIL qualification and experience highly desirable.
  • Exposure to Document Management systems and workflow.
  • Experience in an application support role, ideally within the financial services or automotive sectors or with a consultancy practice.
