Full Job Description

  • Support the Product Owner within the Enterprise Applications team in maintaining the operational status and availability of the application software and environments to the business community and lead the application administrator(s).
  • Manage day to day availability of the application, ensuring that change management and problem management are properly addressed in a timely manner to enable service improvements.
  • Manage the Service Now queues and ensure timely resolution of incidents and catalogue requests.
  • Co-ordinate and participate in diagnosis and resolution of any problems, escalating to team members or other IS teams and vendors (Oracle) as required and taking a lead role in any associated RLI investigations.
  • Work directly with Oracle support teams enabling quick resolution to identified application issues/problems.
  • Responsible for managing the upgrades of Oracle Primavera P6 applications on both networks.
  • Provide lead technical support to project delivery and undertake changes to systems in accordance with defined IS Change and Configuration Management.
  • Task and line manage the application Administrators supporting the systems.
  • Support the Product owners and be involved in the evolution of the application(s) by documenting application improvements and adding to Enterprise Application roadmaps.
  • Deliver resilient systems on corporate IT networks that meets the business requirements and SLAs/OLAs.
  • Lead application and system changes in line with IS processes, procedures, and policies, to budget, time and scope.
  • Deliver Technical Excellence
  • Maintain technical skills and mentor other team members to allow AWE to benefit from new and emerging technologies to make supportive decisions.
  • Attend technical briefing / support groups.

    AWE is currently recruiting for an Application Lead for the Enterprise Applications group. This role would suit a current Senior Application Support Specialist/Application Manager who would enjoy co-ordinating the technical support team for a small set of key enterprise applications whilst specialising as a technical and functional consultant on Oracle Primavera P6. To be successful in this role, you would have good business acumen and a desire to learn more about the technical and functional side of an application. Knowledge of Oracle Projects would be beneficial but not essential. All necessary training and subscriptions will be provided., Good knowledge and understanding of business applications.
  • Proven experience managing or leading and developing applications.
  • The successful candidate will have a track record of working in a similar role.
  • In-depth understanding of SQL and ability to define queries.
  • Strong background in supporting business applications, such as Project Portfolio Management.
  • Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:
  • Experience in configuring within Oracle Primavera P6 or similar Oracle applications preferred.
  • You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.
