Full Job Description

We are looking for an Applications Developer to join our digital team and support the council's digital services team.

You will need to be a highly motivated individual with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges, and you will need a keen interest in technology. You will be helping to provide maintenance and support for the statutory yet highly varied functions of local government; including, but by no means limited to - Internet and Intranet Web editing, forms creation and business process mapping, telephony and social care systems configuration. You will also be helping to support the Solutions Developers to innovate and improve these services. You will need to be great at working in a team and liaising with other members of the DDaT and the wider council, to ensure that the systems are highly available and efficient.

As a result of a full department restructure, we have several new posts and you will be joining an ambitious team. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who work well with their teammates and wider organisation to provide the best possible service for Bury Council. You will be able to innovate and work through challenges with a positive attitude as we venture into new ways of working and delivering digital services.

The role is hybrid based at Town Hall but supporting agile working

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
