Full Job Description

The post holder will provide input into the Medicine Speciality within the Department of MY Psychological Services. The post-holders will provide support to a range of patients accessing the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust across 3 hospital sites.

The applicant should be enthusiastic, highly motivated, and resourceful with strong skills in delivering psychological treatment and working effectively within multi-disciplinary teams. The post-holder will provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment to patients with complex medical conditions (e.g. cardiology, dermatology, diabetes and endocrinology, and gastroenterology), as well as advice and consultation to professional colleagues. They will also contribute to audit and research processes.

Clinical and professional supervision and support will be provided by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the service. The successful applicant will be a member of the Department of MY Psychological Serviceswhich is a developing service offering excellent opportunities for professional support and career development. Furthermore, we regularly take doctoral trainees from local courses and have good academic links to a broad range of universities.

This post is a preceptorship with the opportunity for the successful candidate to progress to band 8a after evidencing development of competencies commensurate with this band.
