The Digital Capabilities Team at the University of Oxford is recruiting for a new apprentice Business Administrator. This is a fantastic chance to kickstart your career, providing essential administrative support to a team dedicated to enhancing digital skills for staff, students, and researchers across the University.,

  • As an Apprentice Business Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Digital Capabilities Team, which includes both the Digital Skills Team and the Digital Capability Operations Team. You'll gain experience in a wide range of administrative tasks, from handling enquiries and managing course information to supporting training services and maintaining financial records.
  • Your work will help to promote and deliver the University's digital skills programme, and you'll have the chance to develop valuable skills in customer service, IT support, and administration.
  • This role is based in the Thames Suite on Banbury Road, offering you a central location and the opportunity to work with a friendly, collaborative team.
  • What You Will Do Full training will be provided as part of the apprenticeship:
  • Provide excellent customer service, acting as the first point of contact for enquiries.
  • Assist in organizing courses, including taking registers and updating course management systems.
  • Support financial processes by raising purchase orders and monitoring payments.
  • Ensure all teaching rooms, equipment, and software are ready for use, and provide IT/AV support for live sessions.
  • Help to record and edit digital training sessions.
  • Maintain and audit inventories of licenses and equipment.

  • Essential Skills:
  • GCSE-level literacy and numeracy skills (or equivalent).
  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with Office365, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and working independently.
  • Desirable Skills:
  • An interest in IT and technology.
