Full Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your career within the hospitality and catering industry. Within an established business with proven past experience with apprenticeships. Duties Include: learning new skills basic butchery basic fishmongery fruit & vegetable preparation food presentation basic baking amongst others use of commercial kitchen equipment assist in the organisation, cleanliness and food hygiene management of the kitchen. general cleaning duties adhering to hygiene standards stock rotation and replenishment ensuring utensils are clean As an Apprentice you will be included on a Level 2 Chef Apprenticeship, which will be delivered by Inspiro Learning, who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship. Future Prospects This is position is the at least the duration of the apprenticeship (15 Months) with the possibility of a permanent position offered to a hard working committed apprentice. Skills required We don't require cooking or catering skills, but a desire to work hard, contribute, communicate and collaborate with a team, have a keen eye for detail and a passion to learn about food and gain new skills are essential. Qualifications required No formal qualifications are required. Personal qualities Presentable, articulate, enthusiastic, assured, and a willingness to learn. Things to consider Working 40 hours in busy kitchen in a public house, working hours will include some evening and weekends. To become an apprentice, you must:

  • be 16 or over
  • not already be in full-time education
  • You can start an apprenticeship whether you're starting your career, want a change or you're upskilling in your current job. You can have a previous qualification like a degree and still start an apprenticeship. As an apprentice you'll:
  • have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace
  • learn and train for a specific job
  • get paid and receive holiday leave
  • get hands-on experience in a real job
  • study for at least 20% of your working hours
  • complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
  • be on a career path with lots of future potential

    The Antrobus Arms is a family run pub/restaurant near the historic Cheshire village of Antrobus. The Barnes' (Martin, Chris, and Steve) acquired the pub in January 2018, repositioning the Antrobus Arms as a destination dining venue. We offer contemporary British menus with traditional hospitality from helpful, friendly staff. Great food, wines, and beers are available every day in our relaxed bar, dining room or, if the weather allows, in our beer garden. We're also dog friendly in the bar area, so you can bring the whole family.
