Full Job Description

Kick-start your career in DWP Digital team as an Apprentice Directors Support Managers. You will earn, learn, and develop essential IT and business administration skills while supporting our senior leaders in a role that offers diverse opportunities for growth and progression. You'll be part of a team supporting either director's or deputy director's office, so you'll get fast-track exposure to really important work, big decisions and senior people. The role involves building strong relationships with directors and understanding the functional area you will support. Some of your daily tasks include diary management, inbox handling, and travel arrangements.,

  • Act as the first point of contact for the Director or Deputy Director.
  • Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders and maintain a smooth flow of information.
  • Do administrative tasks:
  • Oversee directors' inboxes, diary management, and meeting agendas.
  • Assist in managing priority tasks and handling requests, including urgent and high-level matters like ministerial advice.
  • Organise large team events, draft correspondence, and prepare briefings and reports.
  • Solve Problems:
  • Anticipate potential issues, liaise with stakeholders, and resolve problems promptly.

  • How does the apprenticeship work? You don't need any previous experience. We're looking for people with potential and self-motivation. We expect the apprenticeship to last around 18 months. But his is a permanent role. Your role doesn't end when the apprenticeship ends. By the end of the 18 months, we want you to be in a position to apply for new roles. You will be part of a team working on real stuff, with support from a dedicated line manager and task manager as well as the team around you. You'll learn skills and gain valuable experience on the job. You'll also be given 20% of your time (1 day week) to completing your apprenticeship learning as you work towards a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration. If you don't already have a GCSE in English (Grade C or above) you will complete a level 2 English and Maths functional skills qualification., Residency Requirement: Candidates must have lived in the UK and/or the EU for at least 3 years before the apprenticeship start date.,
  • Candidates should not have a pre-existing qualification at the same or a higher level in a similar subject as the Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship.
  • They will need to complete a Level 2 English and Maths qualification if they do not already hold GCSEs in these subjects at grade C (Level 4) or above., Disability Confident
