Full Job Description

The Freshfields Hub in Manchester provides legal support to our lawyers globally. In the Hub we use established processes and procedures to ensure consistent, efficient, and high-quality work. As a paralegal apprentice in the Hub, you will be part of the Hub team. This team is made up of Legal Solutions Specialists, Legal Solutions Managers, Hub Associates, Quality Assurance Analysts and Legal Technologists. There will be exposure to a wide variety of transactions and legal areas throughout your apprenticeship. Opportunities may also develop for short term secondments within the Global Centre and out to external client sites. You will be supervised by the Hub Operations Executive and work as part of a supported and motivated team. You will be involved in the following areas:

  • Working as part of the Hub team to provide varied legal services to global fee earners;
  • Undertaking regular training across multiple areas of legal services and solutions;
  • Developing skills with legal technology, data handling and data processing;
  • Developing written and oral communication skills with a variety of stakeholders across the business; and
  • Assisting with continuous improvement.
  • You can also participate in Freshfields Responsible Business activities such as supporting local charity initiatives, engaging with external audiences to talk about paralegal apprenticeships in Freshfields, and joining one of our many global diversity and inclusivity networks., As a Legal Solutions Apprentice you will be responsible for carrying out a range of tasks which will include:
  • Cross-referencing documents;
  • Document organisation, collation and review;
  • Contract reviews;
  • Database entry, database searching and database maintenance;
  • Proofreading of documents including contracts, agreements and transcripts;
  • Hard copy document management;
  • Legal research;
  • Deployment of legal technology to improve project management and efficiency;
  • Collaborative problem-solving; and
  • Working as part of the Hub team on ongoing projects.
  • You will also contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Hub. This may include helping with gathering requirements and data for projects and producing support documentation as required. You will maintain a daily log of your activity, a record of time spent on activities, and keep up to date with the requirements of the apprenticeship programme. You will have the opportunity to establish and maintain effective working relationships within all levels of Freshfields.,

    High standard of numeracy and literacy;

  • Desired qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 A Levels (or equivalent); and
