Full Job Description

To work within the Radiotherapy department under the Radiotherapy Radiographer Apprenticeship programme atUWE.

Work under the supervision of a HCPC Registered Practitioner.

As part of the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will fulfil a key role in providing radiotherapy, care and support to individuals as specified in standard radiotherapy protocols.

To perform a range of radiotherapy duties and procedures, as detailed within the apprenticeship programme, within the Radiotherapy department under the supervision of a qualified Therapeutic Radiographer at all times.

To ensure that the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017, IRMER 2017 and associated codes of practice and guidance notes together with the Health and Safety at Work Act are understood and adhered to in respect of self, staff, patients and members of the public.

To work with the radiotherapy assistant team in their duties.

Working with the University of West of England (UWE), Bristol we are seeking to recruit two highly motivated and enthusiastic members to enrol on this 3 year programme

The BSc(Hons) Therapeutic Radiography Degree Apprenticeship enables practitioners working in NHS hospitals and specialist radiotherapy centres to train as qualified Therapeutic Radiographers, over a three-year period. You'll study the science that underpins effective cancer care, using advanced specialist equipment and clinical experience to plan and provide effective radiotherapy treatment.
