Full Job Description

In this role, you'll be a key player in conducting daily laboratory tests to qualify materials for dispatch. Complete technical requests and compile reports based on the interpretation of the findings and assist with Laboratory trials to match the customers' specifications and performance requirements with help of the Lab Manager/ Concrete Technicians. It's a hand's on, dusty environment with some lifting involved (up to 25kg).

During your apprenticeship with Master Builders Solutions your role as a Materials Testing Technician Apprentice will be :

· To be aware of all aspects of personal safety and the use of safety equipment.

· Responsible for conducting daily laboratory tests to qualify materials for dispatch.

· Test materials used as raw materials for qualities such as purity, particle size distribution, placement, strength, and density.

· This is a hand-on role that will require some manual handling.

· Understand all internationally recognised and customer specific testing standards and frequencies.

· Provide technical support and assistance.

· Complete technical requests and compile reports based on the interpretation of the findings.

· Understand how to operate lab testing equipment such as sieve shakers, kilns, compressing and flexural rigs, mixers, and vibrating tables.

· Record all test data in the required format.

· Orders and inventories of laboratory materials

· Assist with Lab trials to match the customers' specifications and performance requirements with help of the Lab Manager/ Concrete Technicians.

· Once trained on specific tasks, the role will involve working on your own initiative at times.

· Working on all aspects of the laboratory functions will be required, and this will involve routine tasks.

· Starting salary £18,000 (will increase after 1 year based on performance)

· 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

· Monday to Friday

· 36.25 hours per week
