Full Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity to complete an Advanced Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship and gain valuable experience within a nursery setting. This vacancy would be suitable for anyone who has an interest in starting / pursuing a career within an Early Years setting.
The Apprentice Nursery Assistant will work as part of a team, have a flexible attitude to work, be professional, treat everyone with kindness and respect, and have the confidence to communicate with a range of healthcare staff.
The Apprentice will also ensure a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds and stages of development. Working in the nursery requires the apprentice to be flexible and alter activities and priorities as the need arises., The post holder will contribute positively to the activity of the Nursery Team and will work as part of a team, have a flexible attitude to work, be professional, treat everyone with kindness and respect, and have the confidence to communicate with a range of healthcare staff.
- The Apprentice will meet and greet children, parents/carers in a friendly, polite and professional style
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Whilst providing high standards, be able to contribute to a safe, fun and stimulating environment
- Under guidance organise, arrange and provide activities under the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum to meet the individual needs of the children
- Adhere to Nursery Policy and Operational Plan and bring to the attention of the Manager any ineffective practice
- Be committed to the Trust Values - Listening, Excelling and Caring, To attend all mandatory components of the Apprenticeship Standard including:
Corporate induction
GHNHSFT mandatory training
Department based vocational assessments
Progress review meetings
- To undertake training as required and agreed with the mentor, supervisor and external assessor and complete competencies relevant to the work area / department
- Contribute to good standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the nursery setting
- Understand and apply confidentiality within the work place
- Be flexible in meeting the needs of the Nursery, i.e. working within different units of the Nursery and hours of work
- To undertake any other duties to support the Nursery Nurses and other Nursery staff to provide an efficient service
