Full Job Description
Working in an Operating department in the Freeman Hospital that has 19 theatres covering a variety of surgical specialties. Successful applicant will work in the Orthopaedic Theatres under the direction of a Registered Practitioner to help care for patients in the perioperative phase. This opportunity will provide you with valuable experience and offer a strong foundation for a career within the NHS. No theatre experience is necessary as full training will be provided, however knowledge of working in theatres or a health care setting would be an advantage. Applicants will work towards completing Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship Programme within 18-24 month timescale.

Please expand the job details section and read all of the information before applying for the vacancy, Successful applicants will work under the direction of a Registered Practitioner to perform a range of delegated clinical duties and assist in the safe care of patients within the Peri-operative environment such as for example setting up theatres, performing daily safety checks, performing the circulating role and stocking up. You will need to have a willingness to learn with excellent communication skills, IT skills will be advantageous. You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support WorkerApprenticeship Programme within an 18-24 month timescale. You will have a tutor from a local education provider guiding you through your apprenticeship and will receive appropriate support from registeredpractitioners and clinical educator within the department to help you achieve your apprenticeship and gain necessary skills for the role.
