Full Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Maintenance Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for Daventry Power Systems, UK. During your Apprenticeship with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!, The Maintenance Apprentice role is a developmental position within the Maintenance department. During the apprenticeship you will work 5 days per week. You will attend the college (MGTS) full time for the first year with day release for the following 3 years. The working hours are 37.5 per week. On completion of this apprenticeship, you will obtain a Level 3 BTEC and a HNC. Cummins Daventry has been awarded the Gold Kitemark award for 2 years in a row with the apprenticeship we provide., In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Work closely with experienced engineers and other team members to complete assigned tasks. Contribute to problem-solving and improvement initiatives for maintenance processes. Be proactive in learning new technologies and methods in maintenance engineering.
- Assist in performing scheduled and preventative maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment. Aid in the repair or replacement of faulty parts and systems.
- Maintain logs and documentation of maintenance activities, issues identified, and repairs completed. Ensure all maintenance activities are compliant with company policies and industry regulations.
- Undergo comprehensive training and development to understand the principles of maintenance engineering.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and safe work practices to create a safe working environment. Learn to use and maintain various tools and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
- Help identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues within equipment and machinery. Aid in the repair or replacement of faulty parts and systems.
To be successful in this role you will need the following: - Engineering experience (e.g., hobbies, building projects, or technical skills mentioned on the CV)
- GCSE grade 4 or above in Math, English, and Science
- A strong interest and mindset towards engineering
- Currently a school leaver (GCSE or A Level)
