Full Job Description

This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College. In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based HR Team. PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS (THE CHILDREN'S ACT 1989) Any offers of appointment will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly CRB), a certificate of good conduct if applicable, plus receipt of satisfactory references, Occupational Health clearance, an understanding of safeguarding and qualifications verification. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position as you will be working within 'Regulated Activity' within a specific place (i.e. the College). This role is classed as working within Regulated Activity. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. By applying for this position, you agree to an Enhanced DBS check in line with DBS regulations.,

  • Assist, guide and support students following their initial enquiry and interview to choose the right course of study.
  • Assist, guide and support employers to access appropriate recruitment options and funding streams for their respective training needs, where appropriate; including the Apprenticeship Service, Recruit an Apprentice Service.
  • Work with relevant parties to ensure students are placed in a safe, suitable, and healthy environment with appropriate access to work based training.
  • Work with support departments and Head of WBL to ensure that all existing and new programmes, within the vocational area are marketed and promoted in the best interests of the College.
  • Represents the department in promotional activities and provide students statistics and report where needed for Senior Management.
  • Support vocational areas by setting up and promoting bespoke training to meet industry needs when required.
  • Mentor individual candidates and monitor their academic and vocational progress.
  • Liaise with all parties to ensure that each candidate has the range of opportunities required for their competence based assessments throughout their programme.
  • To improve the quality of provision including involvement with internal and external verification procedures, annual review, self-assessment, Quality Improvement Plans and provision of data as necessary.
  • Carry out formal progress reviews in a timely manner with Apprentices and their employers.
  • Maintain and update all relevant documentation to a high standard in accordance with the requirements of the College, Awarding organisations, Funding Rules and relevant external agencies.
  • Maintain a relevant and current record of your own CPD.
  • In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training. The list of duties is not exhaustive but outlines the main features of the post at appointment and may vary as the job evolves without affecting the nature of the duties or the responsibility level.   • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics, or Level 2 equivalent qualification, or willingness to work towards once in post.
  • Experiencing of mentoring or coaching.
  • Experience of dealing with customers is essential
  • Experience of working with students, apprentices or young people.
  • A willingness to learn and undergo training with
  • regards to apprenticeships within Construction.
  • Significant administrative experience with experience
  • of using a range of IT packages.
  • A driving license free of major endorsements and/or
  • the ability to travel within the College's recruitment area.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • DESIRABLE ATTAINMENTS
  • Vocational experience of working in industry.
  • Experience of working with Awarding Bodies and knowledge of their systems and paperwork,
  • Experience of reviewing learners.
  • Experience of working with outside agencies and
