The University of Cumbria has extensive experience in delivering high quality paramedic education across the UK. The University of Cumbria has extensive experience in delivering high quality paramedic education across the UK. Currently we have over 1100 learners on CPD programmes possessing contracts with 9 out of the 11 English ambulance services, as well as an open access paramedic course at our Lancaster campus. This pedigree in paramedic education has led to the creation of the Centre of Excellence in Paramedic Practice (CEPP), which recently won the Preferred Provider Status for the Southern Ambulance Alliance (SWAST, SCAS, SECAMB, LAS, IoW), East of England Ambulance Service and North West Ambulance Service for paramedic degree apprenticeships. The University now has over 900 registered learners across the 6 apprenticeship programmes.
We are seeking applications for a 1 year fixed term contract in the role of "Apprenticeship Personal Tutor". The successful post holder will work with the East of England academic team to support the University's BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science to ambulance members of staff who are undertaking the new Paramedic Science Degree Apprenticeship.
The post will be based remotely, working from home but will require some travel to Abbeygate. The post holder will provide support, advice and guidance to degree apprentices, conduct tripartite reviews with the employee and their employer and act as a first point of contact for apprenticeship learners. In addition, the post holder will assist apprentices with the development of their portfolio of evidence and submission of off the job hour timesheets.
