Full Job Description

As an Apprentice Trainer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering apprenticeship training programs for our Low Carbon Heating Technician apprentice employees. The Apprentice Trainer must ensure that apprentices acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviours to perform their jobs effectively, and that their learning fully meets the requirements of the relevant apprenticeship standard. We require the successful candidate to have experience training in the Plumbing & Heating industry.,

  • Design and develop training materials, including presentations, handouts, and interactive activities.
  • Collaborate with technical experts within Octopus to ensure accuracy and relevance of training content.
  • Customise the delivery of training programs to meet the specific needs of individual learners.
  • Conduct training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques, such as lectures, group discussions, case studies, and simulations.
  • Adapt training methods to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.
  • Provide clear instructions and explanations to ensure understanding of complex concepts.
  • Evaluate participants' knowledge and skills before, during, and after training sessions.
  • Use assessment tools, such as quizzes, tests, or observations, to measure learning outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to participants to help them improve their performance
  • Monitor your own training effectiveness and work with the quality team to implement suggested improvements
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new training techniques.
  • Seek feedback from participants and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
  • Update training materials and methods to reflect changes in technology, regulations, or organisational policies.

    Relevant training qualification.
  • Proven experience as a trainer or facilitator, preferably in a corporate or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of participants.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using training software and multimedia tools.
  • Experience in the plumbing and heating industry.
