Our Rail Electrification division is heavily involved in designing, installing, and maintaining electrical infrastructure for railway systems. This includes overhead line equipment (OLE) for electrifying railway tracks, substations, and electrical distribution systems that power trains and trams. We now have a great opportunity for an E&P Approved Electrician to join our LV Division and help us meet our current workload demands. Becoming an Approved Electrician at Siemens you will collaborate with our highly skilled colleagues to complete various prestigious projects within the rail sector across the UK This is a predominantly site-based role and will be supporting projects primarily across the Midlands and North of England, so applicants should be willing to travel and work away from home as required for specific projects. - Work closely with the LV team to ensure tasks are completed within the required timescales and to an exceptional standard.
- Install various Electrical Systems as instructed by your Line Manager/Supervisor. Following drawings and designs relating to the project.
- Verify drawings and designs to the installed electrical installations to ensure they are installed correctly and as per design.
- Mark up drawings and relay information to your Line Manager/Supervisor.
- Test Electrical Installations as per the BS7671 standards and complete the relevant test certification to a high standard.
- Work safely as instructed by your Line Manager/Supervisor. Adhering to all relevant Health and Safety Legislation and reporting any unsafe incidents & close calls
- Completion of all site documentation and reporting as required.
- Provide learning and support to new and upcoming talent within the business, sharing your expertise and experiences.
Experience of working in an Industrial environment installing and terminating SWA cables and a variety of flexible cables. - Experience of installing cable containment such as steel trunking and conduit.
- Experience in deriving alarms and signals from various electrical equipment to provide a remote monitoring for our clients.
- Experience in reading Electrical drawings and designs.
- Valid PTS competency. (Desirable but not essential as training can be given)
- Experience in Railway installations for example Signalling power distribution, Points heating and LV DNO installations. (Desirable but not essential)
- Hold 18th Edition BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations Certificate.
- Hold a relevant testing qualification such as City and Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395.
- Have experience and in-depth knowledge of testing various electrical installations and completing test certification on using certification software.
- You will think logically, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving.
- You will be self-motivated and have a strive for excellence with all tasks being undertaken.
- You will work well within a team, safely and responsibly.
