ARA / Personal Assistant / Care Assistant

Tasks will include but not limited to taking child out for local nature walks, taking the child to the local shops walking or by car, taking child to afterschool local clubs, playing at home with child to encourage playing with their toys and communicating using verbal words or makaton to improve understanding. Changing bedding and laundry. It will also include small cooking tasks such as putting food into air fryers to cook quick meals for the child and assisting in helping the child eat using cutlery, cleaning crumbs or mess using a hoover or broom. Help with motor skills such as holding a pen to do some handwriting tasks. The PA should be comfortable with personal care needs and assist the child in taking child to the toilet and assist where required as well as helping get dressed and undressed. The child has a keen interest in leaves, trains and trampolines. The PA needs to have an advanced awareness of danger such as when walking outside where there are cars or trains and should

I'm looking for caring PA with a genuine desire to help support a child with additional needs and autism. This child is 8 years old, mainly non-verbal, happy and gentle child who is active so mobility of PA is required in order to support the child's needs to be active. On-the-job support will be provided and can be a job share. This will be for 10 hours during term-time and 20 hours during the school holidays., have a quick reaction to always safeguard the child.
The PA must be able to drive and have their own car. PA should be first Aid trained.
