Full Job Description

  • Accountable for leading and managing an operational Area structure over three key locations; including Business Managers, Transfer station Managers, Industry experts, and Operatives.
  • Directly influencing business development, growth opportunities, Operational excellence and Service delivery activities across a portfolio of customers. Embedding Veolia standards and working collaboratively with the senior leadership team.
  • Effectively leading and developing Business Managers and working alongside Commercial managers and the team to deliver on all aspects of the Commercial strategy in a safe and legally compliant manner, to maximise profitability, achieve Operational excellence, deliver first class customer service and drive our business purpose.
  • Define and establish effective working relationships across wider functions such as Fleet, Customer Services, Sales, Risk and assurance, HR and Finance, ensuring that clear and efficient cross function operational processes are defined, driving accountability and compliance with them.
  • Create, implement and lead the short (0-6 months) and medium (12-24 months) strategy for the Area, ensuring engagement and commitment from key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Achievement of the Commercial customer success measures across the area - First time collection rate, Recovery collections, Bin delivery, Proactive communication, Invoice accuracy (credit notes & do not invoice), Losses (TTT's) and call handling performance.
  • Support the Commercial Strategy Manager in rolling out of National Projects under our sustainability, efficiency and growth priorities.

  • Level 5 Leadership & Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong business acumen and operational management experience.
  • Financial management experience with experience of producing and presenting financial models and business plans.
  • Transport Manager CPC.
  • Ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Seasoned leader with demonstrable track-record of leading high-performance.
  • Experience of leading and driving transformation and change.
  • Strategic thinker who is solution focussed and creative, with the ability to implement strategy and embed into a business.

    Salary: Competitive plus performance bonus, company car/car cash allowance, medical cover and pension Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Location: Covering Poole, Portsmouth and Basingstoke (base location can be any of the three locations).
