Full Job Description

Landmarc Support Services is seeking a skilled Armourer to join our team at RAF Spadeadam. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining small arms and support weapons, ammunition and associated equipment within the Armoury, alongside performing additional maintenance duties. A background in Mechanical or Electrical maintenance would be advantageous, complementing your expertise as an Armourer. As a key part of the team, you will support the smooth running of our training estate, ensuring all equipment is in top condition.,

  • Maintain, repair, and safely store weapons and ammunition
  • Manage the issue and receipt of all armoury items
  • Safeguard private weapons and ammunition in the Armoury
  • Maintain and inspect technical armoury equipment
  • Support ATC (Air Training Corps) Armament parenting duties as needed
  • Assist with additional tasks assigned by management
  • Driving tasks including plant and machinery where required

    Understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessments
  • Excellent communication skills with customers and clients
  • Work effectively in a dynamic, multi-tasking team environment
  • Demonstrate basic caretaking and labouring skills as needed
  • Confidently operate and maintain a range of tools and equipment
  • Complete documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Good understanding of manual handling and safe working practices
  • Possess basic IT skills for logging and reporting tasks, Level 3 qualification (City and Guilds, ONC, NVQ, or equivalent) with practical experience in this specialism
  • Qualified to maintain and repair all service weapons to a high standard
  • Solid understanding of safe storage and handling of explosives
  • Knowledge of Explosive Safety Area Management
  • Applicants must hold a full valid UK driving licence to carry out the duties of this role
  • Ability to achieve SC Security Clearance
