Full Job Description

The Defence College of Support (DCSp) delivers training to all Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force service personnel in Supply, Distribution, Driving, Catering, Policing & Guarding and Personnel Administration.
The college is made up of 3 schools; Defence School of Logistics and Administration (DSLA) predominantly based at Worthy Down; Defence School of Policing and Security (DSPS) in Southwick Park; and Defence School of Transport (DST) at Leconfield. The college headquarters is also based at Worthy Down – a newly built, modern campus in Hampshire.
These roles sit within DSLA and the Catering Training Wing (CTW), providing training for our military chefs. Successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring that our tri-service chef students are fully prepared for their future roles and that the Catering Training Wing maintains its standards as a Centre of Catering Excellence.
These positions are advertised at 37 hours per week. Attendance to the stated site will be required in accordance with the course schedule. Flexibility at other times may be possible and can be agreed once in post., Insert main responsibilities:
+ Conduct practical lessons, demonstrations and lectures in a variety of locations.
+ Deliver instruction in accordance with the published course training documents.
+ Evaluate and amend lesson plans.
+ Carry out assessments and give feedback; both oral and written.
+ Evaluate equipment and recipes in context to the course requirements.
+ Comply with responsibilities in respect of relevant food policies.

The Chef Instructor role at the Defence School of Logistics and Administration (DSLA) offers an exciting opportunity to work in a front-facing military training environment.
You will drive the Culinary Courses at DSLA - Defence’s Centre of Catering Excellence - by training and preparing catering personnel at all competency levels across a wide spectrum of culinary skills, while also developing and optimising courses to make sure they remain relevant in an ever-changing environment., We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

Sifting is planned to be completed WC 30th September 24 with Interviews scheduled from 9th Oct 24.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
