Full Job Description

As the Command Force Development Manager and Wargaming, you will:

Manage annual programme of Army Force Testing, wargaming, and Operational Analysis (OA) activities to test and evaluate operational concepts, force design, and modernisation options.
Arrange and manage the execution of wargaming and OA, working closely with Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) other agencies, other Army HQ staff branches and Field Army Formation HQs.
Coordinate support to, and participation in, Army Force Testing from partners including MoD, other TLBs, other government departments and multinational military forces.
Lead generation, collation and exploitation of evidence from OA to support potential future Army Balance Of Investment decisions.
Input OA reports into the Army Research Reports Repository (ARRR) and exploit the ARRR to provide evidence to advise Army strategic decision making.
Manage the Army Strategy & Force Developments (Strat&FD) annual OA budget.
Manage development of Methods, Tools and Data to prepare appropriate models to support anticipated Army OA requirements.
Support and deputise for Assistant Head Strat&FD (Army Colonel) and SO1 Force Testing (Army Lt Col) where required, including attending relevant meetings in the UK and abroad if required.

This role is suitable for hybrid working (part office/part working from home) and flexible working hours (flexible start and finish times subject to business need). The successful candidate would be expected to spend an average of two to three working days each week in the office.
