Full Job Description

This step-up opportunity is for people who have extensive and professional experience as a Props Standby. You will be given the opportunity to support the Production Designer with script breakdown, hire agreements and negotiating contracts, and oversee continuity, fittings and maintenance in accordance with the schedule and budget. You will embrace existing processes and ways of working, as well as establishing your own routines and suggesting improvements when you identify opportunities to do things differently or better. You don't need to have done all elements before but we will be looking for evidence of readiness to take on this elevated level of responsibility. What are the Art Directors' main responsibilities: The Art Director works closely with the Production Designer will is responsible for all construction drawings and research, liaising with contractors facilitating any design work required. Analysis of the final schedule is completed with the Production Designer so they can determine key dates for when sets must be ready, taken apart or newly built. The Supervising Art Director is required to ensure that all records, including research materials, drawings and models are properly filed and stored after wrap, ensuring to build and maintain good working relationships with suppliers, both internally and externally.

Are you an experienced Standby Props with a flair for designing eye-catching sets, creating a true-to-life world to engage an audience? Are you ready to take your knowledge and experience of the art department and embark on your new pathway?,

  • Professional experience in the role of Standby Props in Drama
  • Graduate level in art and design and/or substantial experience working in television with evidence of set dressing, prop making and design skills
  • A flair for studio sets and props, with a record of working with creative and technical personnel
  • Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Photoshop
  • Knowledge and passion for Continuing Drama, especially Pobol y Cwm
