The post involves handling a variety of different types of objects, as well as installing and de-installing exhibitions across all museum sites.

Key elements of your role will involve packing and transporting a wide variety of museum collection objects - from paintings and uniforms to ship models - and installing and de-installing exhibitions in a historic environment in support of public programmes; driving Museum vehicles including a 3.5-tonne box van between Royal Museums Greenwich sites and to venues across London and the UK as required; processing and accurately recording information to ensure that object location records and related documents are correct and up to date; and using the Museum's collections management database Mimsy XG as required to check object details.
The successful applicant will need a minimum of 2 years driving experience and be a holder of a clean driving licence with good driving skills and the ability and confidence to drive a 3.5-tonne box van. They will need to demonstrate knowledge and practical application of current health & safety practice, some practical and relevant experience in art or object handling including packing, transportation and installation, and be energetic with good manual dexterity as the post involves some heavy lifting and regular working at heights.
